First, and Most Importantly...

blogged on: 8/10/2011 2:34:55 AM

I've been thinking of getting a specific tattoo since I was 17 (8 years ago) and this isn't it. I still haven't gotten it. This one, I thought about for a total of 3 weeks and had no hesitation when I walked in the door to make an appointment and when I showed up the next evening to do the deed. I've been through some hard times in my life, and after the unexpected and sudden death of a close friend of mine in December 2010, I realized how much my developed sense of constant optimism and positivity has really helped me through even the worst of times. Inspiration from a poem suggested to me from a friend called "Still I Rise" by Maya Angelou made this seem perfect to be a constant reminder to rise above hardship and troubles, as life's too short to hold grudges and there's enough negativity in the world as it is.

grim reaper dead horses the world and everything wrong with it .this tattoo is what i feel and believe is the reason for the way the human race is going. we are all stuck here together and if we dont change these things then there is only dark days ahead i love you humans and everything on this planet so please for the love of this spec floating endlessly threw the universe that we are all stuck on together. when this world is gone its gone same as everything else so think about it. love.

Forever Moments by tattoo artist Erika Doyon

blogged on: 4/3/2011 8:09:22 PM

This is the tattoo that is on my back as done by award-winning tattoo artist Erika Doyon ( tattoosbyerika.com/ ). It is a finished portraiture of "Forever Moments" which was originally created by fantasy artist Boris Vallejo. The piece took 35 hours of work (12 tattoo sessions) and was completed on September 11, 2010, at the Montreal Tattoo Convention. Apart from the embrace of the couple, what makes it really organic is the fact that the wing of the angel wraps around the man's leg. :-)
